Bridgestone invited more than fifty of the world’s top motoring journalists to experience its new 3rd generation run-flat tyres at the Bridgestone Europe Proving Ground (EUPG) near Rome, Italy. Participants took part in a handling demonstration at zero air pressure after the run-flat tyre had run over a fixed nail. They rode, braked and cornered at between 40 and 80 km/h, witnessing how run-flats allow drivers to continue their journey without stopping to repair the puncture. By providing ride comfort levels comparable to standard tyres, Bridgestone’s 3rd generation run-flat tyres will enable most cars to drive on run-flat tyres in the future ヨ including popular small models and cars which are not factory-fitted with run-flats. Available material includes video and still images of the new 3rd generation run-flat tyres.
